About the Artist

Spindle Bell is the work of Massachusetts artist/designer Katherine Cota. She has been dabbling in every imaginable craft for over 10 years and has been drawing since conception. Her time is divided equally between creating her handmade jewelry pieces and her sketches and paintings. Katherine uses a lot of nature-inspired materials for her jewelry such as precious gems and wooden beads, along with sterling silver and assorted spunky glass beads. Many of her beads are also hand sculpted from polymer clay or woodburned. All of her pieces have a personal, elegant, and natural touch. For her art pieces, Katherine enjoys collage work, pencil and ink drawings, and (her favorite) watercolors. Inspiration for all of her work comes from nature, music, science, literature, or the bombardment of images she receives each night before falling asleep. Katherine plans to expand her gallery to include many of her other interests, including knitting and crocheting, woodburning, stationery, and hand bound journals.
